Power. Grace. Sensuality. Own it!
Bellydance encompasses the hallmarks of femininity, but you don't have to
be a woman to join in the fun. In these playful community-oriented classes
we support each other in our growth as dancers. Born to a bellydancer
herself, Leia has been teaching and performing around the Northwest since
1995. She especially enjoys dancing to live music, especially on the kitchen
counter while her sweetie plays guitar, even more especially with her
daughter in her arms. Her bellydance style has ranged from "Earth Mama"
to "Tribal Fusion" and continues to evolve, now with more focus on fire arts.
Classes are not currently in session, but are usually held at The Bend Circus
Center, located at 20680 Carmen Loop, Suite 102. Carmen Loop is off of
American Lane, off of Reed Market.
In Technique Class we practice the basic building blocks of bellydance
including perfect posture, hip and chest isolations, fluid arm and hand
moves, shimmies and bellyrolls! Bring your finger cymbals (zills) or borrow
the instructor's. All levels welcome. These classes are not currently being

membership. Please contact performers directly; the guild is not responsible for the

contact a board member and state that explicitly. "Wait... what?"
In Performance Group we rehearse choreography for upcoming performances, as well as create costumes.
Past choreographies have ranged from unexpectedly modern to wonderously traditional. Concurrent enrollment
in technique class requested. Some dance experience preferred.
