Class Locations: Classes held at Terpsichorean Dance Studio
1601 NW Newport
Teaching Schedule:

Basics 1:  Beginning Tribal.  Gypsy Fire teaches American Tribal Style Bellydance, which is a modern, American fusion
of traditional Middle Eastern dance movements.  ATS
® celebrates the strength and grace of the female form and the
community of women who practice it.  Improvisation is the key to creativity in a style which strives for uniformity of
presentation.  The soul of ATS
® is the communication among the dancers which is expressed in the group nature of
the dance.

Each session will focus on posture, stretching, and fundamental movements of American Tribal Style bellydance.  This
is a progressive course, so we will build a basic repertoire in the 6 weeks:  You will be dancing in your first class!
Classes taught by Quinn, FCBD-Certified Teacher of ATS
® (General Studio), or another troupe member of Gypsy Fire

Recommended class attire:  any clothing that you can stretch in:  sweatpants, an elastic waist skirt, or full pants, and a
sports bra, leotard, or tank top.  It is best to wear a midriff-baring, or body-hugging top, so that you and your instructor
can better see your posture, and movement.  (Please, no baggy T-shirts!)

I never would have believed what a huge part of my life this dance
would become!  After having the great fortune to study with Carolena
Nericcio and FatChanceBellyDance, I moved to Bend, Oregon, in 1998,
and began to teach.  What began as a living room class has since
grown into 3 nights a week of instruction, the performing troupe,
Gypsy Fire, and the student troupe, Sister Fire!

I have continued my studies of dance through workshops with such
teachers and troupes as: Gypsy Caravan, Ultra Gypsy, Zafira, Urban
Tribal Dance Company, Ansuya, and others; as well as being currently
Level 1 certified in the Suhaila Salimpour format, as well as Level 1
Jamila Salimpor format, and am also a FCBD-certified teacher of ATS
(General Studio).
