Hello,

Fall is here, and what better time to start a dance class? Come discover the joy of bellydance with Gypsy Fire!

Gypsy Fire Bellydance offers beginning classes in American Tribal Style Bellydance. ATS is a modern form of bellydance that combines traditional movements from the Middle East with elements from India and Spain. ATS is a group style of dance, and is done Improvisationally: dances are created in the moment.

This 6-week foundational course will cover the basic movements of ATS, playing finger cymbals, as well as some stretching and flexibility exercises: you will be dancing in your first class!

Class starts Tuesday, October 4.
Time: 8:00-9:00 pm
Location: Terpsichorean Dance Studio, 1601 NW Newport Ave.
Tuition: $55/ 6-week class card
More information: www.gypsyfirebellydance.com or call (541) 420-5416

Thank you,

Quinn Donovan Fradet
Director, Gypsy Fire Bellydance

It’s back to school season, and that means that Tribal Moon Belly Dance classes are starting up again!

Please join us for the next 6-week session, start dates are below:

Bend – Wednesday, 7:00-8:00pm: October 5 – November 9 (at Asmi Yoga Studio, 911 SE Armour at 9th, near Wilson)

Redmond – Monday, 6:15-7:30pm: October 10 – November 14 (at Miss Kimbers Dance Magic, 628 SW Glacier at 7th)

Level I – Tribal Basics & Dance Fundamentals.

Description: Designed for dancers new to ATS, and for all students looking to refine their Tribal belly dance skills. Each class begins with drills and belly dance conditioning exercises followed by an in-depth approach to learning the essential slow and fast movements that are key to dancing ATS. From day-one you’ll learn the concept of group improv and how to connect with fellow dancers as you learn the art of dancing American Tribal Style. This is a progressive course that helps you build a basic repertoire in the 6-week series.

Dress requirement: New to Tribal Style? Just wear comfy, stretchy pants (like yoga pants), and a tank top, sports bra or yoga top. Large scarf or triangle piece of fabric that can be tied around the hips (we call this a hip shawl or hip scarf) is helpful but not required.

Tuition:
$50/for 6-week series
$10/for drop-in, OK to drop-in the first 2 weeks of class only.
RSVP is required. Please send me an email confirmation to hold your space.

Instructor: Classes are taught by Kathy Stahlman, former member of Fat Chance Belly Dance, the troupe that created the legend.

Happy dancing!

The class is appropriate for all levels of dancers:

Beginners will still get the basics…
More seasoned dancers will gain experience with a new prop (skirts) and be able to tuck a few new moves under their belt.

Join with a friend- a daughter- a sister- or just on your own!

The class is sponsored by COCC Community learning, is open to individuals 16 and over and is only $45 for the 8 week session.
